Salcombe & Hope Cove Lifeboat Guild News
The Annual Christmas Fair held at the Tides Reach Hotel by kind permission of Mr Edwards on Saturday December 3rd was a great success and a wonderful finale to 2011. The Guild was so grateful for the support from local businesses, members of the Lifeboat Crew and most of all the residents who came and enjoyed the delightful setting.
The Guild is gearing up to begin fundraising for 2012.
Our first event is the SOS evening (Sing Our Shanties) on Friday 27th January 2012 at the Fortescue Inn. Super suppers; a choice of a fish dish or meat and potato pie at £7.00 per head will be available from 7.00pm will be followed by entertainment. This year we have a simple quiz to do on the day. The questions will be available during the lunchtime together with raffle tickets and again from 6.00pm onwards. Come along and join the fun for a good cause.
The souvenir shop will be open during half-term from Saturday 11th until Sunday 19th February.
We will be holding a Quiz evening at the Holy Trinity Church in Salcombe on Saturday 10 March to include a cold supper. More details about this shortly.
Everything that we do in the Guild is organized and manned by volunteers. New members are always welcome. If you can spare an hour or two to help in the shop or at events, please do come and join us.
