Discover the Erme Estuary
Saturday 21st April 10.00am – 4.00pm
A rare opportunity to explore the South Hams’ most secretive and delightful estuary, with special permission to use routes not normally open to the public. Former AONB
Manager Robin Toogood will reveal the rich and fascinating story of the Flete estate. We will stop halfway for a picnic lunch beside the river: bring food and drink. Well behaved dogs welcome but must be kept on a lead. Free. Meet at Mothecombe car park, Holbeton PL8 1LB
…our wild and rugged coastline
Start Point Circular – Sunday 20th May 2pm – 4pm
Join us to explore some of our most wild coastline around Start Point, heading over to Peartree Point and along to Mattiscombe beach, before heading back to the start. The coast path is steep in sections but the possibility of seeing our resident Grey Seals will make it worth the walk!

Open Farm Sunday at Daynes Farm –
Sun 10th June 11am – 4pm, Walk with the farmer 12 noon & 2pm, Come and meet farmer David Camp and find out how he manages his organic beef, sheep and cereal farm.
Explore the farm, see the cows, sheep and lambs. Find out what crops David grows to feed his stock. After the walk you can enjoy some tea and cake, try a craft and enter a fun quiz about the farm. Free

Soldiers and Sailors – Sunday 22nd July 2pm – 4.30pm
Explore the very edges of the AONB overlooking Plymouth Sound with former AONB manager, Robin Toogood, seeing some of the best preserved historic military fortifications in the country and the dramatic impact they have had on the landscape. This will be a 3 mile circular walk starting at Fort Bovisand. Free.

Froward Point and Coleton Camp circular
Sunday 12th August 2pm – 4.00pm
With spectacular views out over the Dart estuary and Start Bay at the beginning and the rugged cliffs of the Kingswear peninsular further along, its easy to see why this part of the AONB is so special. Walking through time – Broadsands and Churston
Sunday 9th September 2pm – 5pm

Find out more about the heritage and wildlife of the area, exploring the coast path and bridleways around the mouth of the Dart and Little Dartmouth, on this 3.5 mile circular walk. Walking through time – Rickham and Gara Rock

From shipwrecks and look outs to Bronze Age farming and the Civil war, there is lots to discover on this stunning 4 mile walk from the mouth of the Salcombe estuary around the South West Coast Path to Gara Rock. Join Adam Davison from the AONB team for a walk out to see the sunset over the sea before heading back around the estuary to find out who is coming in to bed down for the night and who is heading out for the evening! 4.5 miles easy walk, wear sturdy shoes and bring a torch.
